Slinky Needs A New Slogan - and we want you to come up with the new one for us.

Slinky needs a new slogan... and it could be you who decides!

As you all know, Slinky Loves You... but as with most relationships there's only so many times we can tell you that before you stop believing us - which means we're looking for a new slogan and want the Slinky clubbers to decide what it is.

If you think you've got what it takes to decide what our new slogan is then now is the time for you to make your mark on UK clubbing. Simply email tom@slinky.co.uk with your suggestion, plus your FULL NAME by this Friday (22nd) at midday.

And the winner of the best slogan will get...

VIP guestlist for you and 10 mates meaning that you will have the Royal Box at the Opera House for your own private party with a bottle of Champagne on ice for Slinky Hard on Saturday the 27th of September.

There will also be runners up prizes of guestlist for the Slinky Hard date too... so all you need to do is email tom@slinky.co.uk with your suggestions and we'll pick the best ones plus runners up for guestlist... we might even select some special prizes for the cheesiest or worst suggestions! *

In the meantime don't forget this Friday the 22nd of August is Slinky's Summer Bank Holiday Special with Marcel Woods

Tickets are still available from the shops plus online or the Opera House Box Office on 08701 98 98 98.

Hello people, we've had some hilarious entries for this competition, but so far only perhaps a couple that would make the grade and actually be safe (and not to mention "legal") to use.

So... what we're going to do is extend the competition for a while because ideally I want to get about 5 really good and usable ideas. We might then let the public vote for which one we use...

That's one way of doing it, not 100% sure yet.

Either way, the comp is still open and it's a great prize so keep sending your entries to tom@slinky.co.uk.

Guys, I think to judge us because of one event is a bit harsh. Being realistic, August is always to worst month in clubland. From speaking to alot of promoters on last weekend, there were very very few that did well. Unfortunatley we were up against Creamfields, SW4, PVD @ Syndicate plus a load of other nights but we still managed over 600 in and were the busiest night on the South Coast that night. Also add onto the equation it was only four weeks since the classics show and most people dont get paid until this week, so in actual fairness I felt we did good although yes we would have liked there to have been more there. We have had 7 shows now and they have all been amazing to work on and in my eyes the line ups have always been very good but I guess you cannot please everyone all the time so please bear with us. The September show looks to be a lock out with Halloween being one of the biggest dates on the clubbing calendar so things will be back to normal this month.

nope - we've had some very big trance line-ups recently... but hard is coming back for September's gig with BK, Lisa Pin-Up, Whitby, and Organ Donors.

Alright Lee, just telling it like I saw it that's all. Not blaming anyone, thought the lineup was quite week - my opinion - but from previous postings within this thread I have gathered that it was a quiet weekend all round. Just comparing it to the glory days as I put it, that was all, maybe a little unrealistic of me, but that's the way I am, but obviously driven by a passion for The South Coast's Superclub slogan? so please excuse my apparent naivity.

All the best for Sept, not my cuppa but i'm sure it will make up for August in a big way, cos I hear the kids love it Hard these days...;o)

i was'nt meaning to have a go,tbh bournemouth seemed dead full stop, same as the previous weekend,it will never be the same as it was years ago and granted you were up against a lot of events,im a slinky faithfull goer and have been since september 1998 and i like you want to see it continue for many years to come, its the only night worth going to in bournemouth so i look forward to them when they come around,i woulod love to see these dj's on the same night Armin Van Burren,John O Callaghan and Adam Sheridan at the moment JOC for me is the best dj around loving everything he's playing putting out at the moment

keep up the good/hard work it is appreciated

I wouldn't say the line up was weak at all. Without boring everyone with info I'm sure they're aware of on how much all the guys on the line up have done recently and how big each name actually is, I thought the line up was pretty big and different. Sean Tyas has never played Slinky, Marcel Woods has not played for several years now and Aly & Fila were also good names to finally land at The Opera House.
Obviously I am going to defend Slinky (I know you guys were not slating Slinky in any way and its not as if Slinky need defending anyway cause if it wasn't being run by the right people then the brand would have folded when it left the Opera House in 2006.) all the way but this is a totally non-biased opinion. I thought the night was good all round and thought that the people that missed the night missed out on some wicked perfomances. Its just a bloody shame that the bank holiday weekend throws up so many choices for people to decide from. I'm not saying just cause people didn't come to Slinky means they're stupid for not knowing what they missed out on. I'm just saying they generally missed out on a good line up but people make their own choices and obviously Slinky wasn't their choice.

I went to SW4 on the Saturday and saw loads of people from Bournemouth and saw quite a few peeps that are usually at Slinky so clearly alot of peeps decided not to go to Slinky on the Friday and opted for SW4.

Good for you Neil - I'm sure Lee & Richard will be glad to see there are people out there who do care about the brand and it shows that there are people out there who don't just wanna slate what work they do.

woulod love to see these dj's on the same night Armin Van Burren,John O Callaghan and Adam Sheridan

As for you, you Scottish Clown. Stop with your demands. Haha :-p
If we all got to decide our preferred line ups we'd be living in a perfect world wouldn't we?
This kinda line up would take a lot of work to confirm. It would take a lot of organising with DJ's diaries needing to be free for the same period. It probably wouldn't be impossible would just take a lot of organising
This line up would be very tasty of course and I'm sure if you keep making good suggestions for Lee & Richard to consider they will do they're hardest to make us all happy with the booking they decide on.
They've done a wicked job already this year. Take it from me I know - Lets just say Lee does take notice of constant badgering.

Anyway - Role on September & The Halloween event.

And good luck to people entering this slogan comp - You never know someone might actually come up with something special and then this comp would probably turn out to be the best thing since sliced bread. Haha!

Once again - Great work from Lee & Richard on this year to date so far.

no nor would i,infact best slinky line up since it reopened there, but havin organ doners on befor andy was a really big mistake, the place went darker and emptied abit.
The smoking gueue/arrangments/area was crap and havin 3under cover cops in there put tension in they air which made it dull n gloomy, however i did love the SLINKY LOVES YOU banners everywhere, i though thankgod they hav come to there senses and decided not to change it!!
