Dubbed the Queen of Filth by her growing legion of admirers, Lucy Fur stands on the cusp of greatness with six years of turntable experience already under her belt.
The banging beat mistress has worked her way up through the ranks with grit, determination and bags of style and is now one of the most sought after female DJs in hard house.
Lucy has hammered them out at many of Britain’s leading hotspots –Twist, Frantic, Insekt, Afters and Storm among them – and has been rewarded with key roles in major events such as Polysexual, Hard House Academy and Tidy Extreme Euphoria.
The high priestess of hard and heavy has won the respect of leading luminaries such as Paul Glazby and Ian M, as is commonly tipped for the top by influential clubland bigwigs.
Energetic sets with vision and balls of steel have made Lucy a huge hit with party-goers. She won her regular slot at Twist after topping a Harderfaster internet poll which saw clubbers voting for the DJ they most wanted to see play regularly at Twist.
The run up towards Polys 8th birthday Vicious Circle Hosting the Nitrogen Room we ask Lucy Fur a few questions about birthdays & other interesting things in the world of fur.

1.What was your most memorable birthday, I am sure there’s a few but which one tops the lot, I mean the mega of all birthdays?
It has to be my 21st birthday. I had not been DJing long and I threw a small party in my local pub with my mates who were all going to play- little did I know they had booked Superfast Oz!!! He arrived with a goodie bag full of Kaktai stuff dreads and all! It was a fantastic night and I have stayed friends with him every since! It’s fantastic to be on the same DJ agency as him now!
2.What was the best gift you have EVER received and who was it from?
The best gift has to be the gift of life. I never waste a moment and try to live life to the full. My lovely mother gave that to me obviously!

3.If there would be one place where you can spend your birthday where would it be, remember this can be anywhere in the world?
Mmmm that is hard but I am very partial to a bit of Maldives, so I am going to say there! It is the most beautiful place I have ever been to!
4.Where has been the your favorite venue you have ever played at and are there any events you wish you could play at in the future?
Playing main room Poly's was wicked! But I love Air and all it's rooms! That is a hard question to answer as I have had some amazing gigs...The most recent venue that stands out as I played there last week is the Honey Club in Brighton- that was fantastic! I used to love Crash in London too and I am partial to Brixton Academy.
Other events? Has to be Global Gathering! What an event!

5.Who inspired you to be a DJ and who do you have the upmost respect for to this day?
There are a few key players that got me going. The 1st being the gorgeous Lisa Lashes. She looked so fab behind the decks, banging out anthems like Stimulant Dj's Hoover Time back in the old Sundissential days. I shortly after discovered Andy Farley and thought he was fascinating to watch. And then in 98/99 I found my direction in music and Paul Glazby. Never looked back! He is Mr Hard House- thanks Paul!
6.What DJ would you love to play a B2B set with and why?
It would have to be Glazby as hes the man! Simple as!
7.How is the track making going and are there any other producer’s you are hoping to collaborate and churn out more PHAT tunes with?
Very well thanks. I am on my 8th or 9th track now so soon I will be able to do a producers mix. I have just finished my new Red demo and that has 4 of my tracks on there. I would like to work with Dave Owens, Nik Denton, Hilze and Frank Farrell as I haven't used any of them yet and I will defo be working with Riggsy, Maddox and the daddy Tom Parr again soon!
8.Do you think the sounds of Hard Dance have changed since the early days?
Not really- the trends are a bit like jeans, they come back round again in fashion but with updated looks!

9.How many holidays do you have a year? It seems like you have great tan every time people see’s you? Lol
Haha! About 2 or 3, or 4 if I can. I work in travel so you have to have perks of the job eh! But let's be honest, when the weather is a shit as it is here- you want to escape!
10.Is there anything you wish to add to this short but interesting read?
I have written you a poem-
There is a promotion called Polysexual
Who's monthly events are the dogs testical
With the birthday party coming up
Superstar DJs- the cream of the crop
If you miss this you will be absolutely mental!:)
