SNEAK Birmingham...coming soon!

Super Club, Gatecrasher will be joined by SNEAK in early October- another new club that also takes influence from the best clubs from around the world. In this case, the swanky member’s clubs in New York and those in Kensington, London- intimate playgrounds for the extravagant and the glitterati alike. The plans are ambitious, there will be 6 zones/ rooms crammed into the old Dragon Eye building; various lounges, champagne and cocktail bars, chill out areas, booths, a dance-floor and an ‘all singing all dancing’ Mediterranean-style heated roof top terrace.

“Birmingham has been crying out for a venue like this” Says Kailey who has been involved with the club design from the outset. “The clubs in London have hitting the mark for quite some time. Music tastes have changed and people are not so confined to one particular style. If you go to Boujis, Amika and Embassy etc. you’ll hear a DJ switch from Funky House to RnB and from Indie to Electro- none of it is cheesy- only the cool tunes from each genre get played. It works really well”

Kailey has many credits to his name; Hed Kandi, Mud Club, Plastic, Dragon Eye and Glitterati are all well known House music clubbing brands. However even he feels its time to broaden the appeal as House music has indeed been joined by RnB and more lately, by Indie as real musical alternatives for clubbers. “All these types music are fashionable and we’re aiming to attract the most glamorous followers of each of these scenes to our club”

The centrepiece to this club will the jaw-dropping LED ceiling that will fire images inches above clubber’s heads in perfect time to the music. “Technology is a big part of SNEAK. We’ve taken a lot of time planning the experience for our customers.” The LED system also incorporates ambient LED wall lighting that can change the entire look of the club at the press of a button. “Every night will have a different ‘feel’ both musically and visually. We’ll also mess about with the configuration of rooms that we use on each night to enhance this further still.”

The club will also feature with a state of the art sound-system that has been tuned to the environment. “The sound will be warm and powerful without being too loud” adds Richard Shafe, another of the club’s creators. “The music will literally surround you on the dance floor but will be quieter in areas where you want to talk. Friendships are made in the clubs and this will help to build a strong regular following” It’s this level of detail the guys feel is necessary for success.

Luxury will also figure in abundance. “It’ll be plush and minimal in equal measures- modern meets retro” says Richard “Everything will be changed and designed with the perfect night out in mind. You’ll have intimate spaces and open spaces all within the same venue. We appreciate that people have different expectations- some like to socialise and others prefer to dance all night. Some will favour an exceptional service in safe and comfortable surroundings. Whilst some love the feeling of being in an exclusive environment -All of these people will love SNEAK.”

Finally to the name SNEAK. I asked the guys the idea behind it. “It’s a word we really like, we went through thousands and this one tested very positively. We’re aiming to be an exclusive club where only those in the know will go- a ‘sneaky’ little place that people will go to party”

SNEAK launches in October 2008 and is situated on Upper Broad St / Five Ways . Birmingham

Are the photos of the LED ceiling from the SNEAK club itself or are they from Watergate in Germany and its for us to see where the idea came from?

its a representation of how ours will look when the installations complete in a couple of weeks - i believe the watergate system is a couple of years old now. there are several better systems on the market now, which use a higher density matrix, etc

The thought of RnB and Indie in a House set makes me really annoyed.

haha what a shame! If only it had the same music policy as The Watergate!!!!
