Slinky reigns supreme again in Bournemouth!
Friday night was a cracking night, was at first dubious of elements as a club, it is apparant that it is a cheese club though with the effort made with the slinky decor and having a laser made it feel like a dirty underground club with a good vibe. The music all night was spot on and i was really impressed with Davs set at the end (This could be as it is one of the only ones i can remember), and he did "rip the arse out of elelemets" as promised! The other sets were good all night from what i can remember with the U4IC Dj's not playing badly when i got in and all the other DJ's performing solid sets and building the night up and though while not fan of Scott Project i found him remarkable bearable if not a bit hard for my usual musical taste buds!

Frenzy in room 2 i thought had an amazing atmosphere though i thought they could have done with a slightly beefier sound system in there i think the music was spot on and caught a bit of Kyms set and was quite impressed with it, and also caught a couple of other DJ's whose names i do not know but they again played well!

I think Friday was apparant that Slinky is most definately not dead and also that team slinky are doing very well at the momment keeping slinky all over the country and putting on storming nights so well done! See you all at the next one :)

Cheers Dan... In order it was:

Cheeky Scott (Frenzy resident)
Chris B (Frenzy resident)
Kym Ayres (Slinky)
MNKY & Ryki (Frenzy & Slinky guests)

No problems as mentioned Room 2 was good and is always good to have two types of music that go hand in hand well together and i thought Slinky Trance and Frenzy went well! Caught a bit of Kym and MNKY @ Ryki and whoever was on around half 11 all good tight mixing from what i heard and the crowd and atmosphere was wicked!

I must admit I wont be rushing to elements again, I was pure scared in the ladys loo's, such rudeness i encounted. Then there was the photo taking, people usually love a spoter but i was getting tut's and hissed at not nice at all, these were even coming from Slinky dressed girls, I think that the atmosphere was shocking!

I would love to also be able to give a full run down of the music that should have blessed our ears but I cant really, I remember Marc Vedo didnt really catch my attention but then again its a tough one to get my attention from the first set its.... mmmmm bar, drink, listen no back to bar, drink and soo on. U4IC's and Dan, who I must admit played a corker of a set, Phil actally took main stage that night, Dan is usulally the tech wizard so im impressed there has been much, much improvment and they are now both up to scratch. I really looking forward to seeing them at the Boat Party next week, and yes there last tune was a cracker some re-mix of snow patrol very clever guys, they did throw in 2 of there own productions at the end but I do remember keep asking Phil is it this one. is it this one??? and we never established it, but I think that was all down to too many dVodkas and pineapples. John was great again, even put up with dafunke and I talking absolute babble to him for ages, not only is he a great dj but a great sport hey???? I think if i was him dafunke i would be scared of us two very scared in deed. I did like the fact that all the Dj's were mingling in the crowds and we got to have a good old chat with everyone, but I think that this is the only thing that made me smile from the venue that and the lazer on the glitter ball, sent it mad but then again that was a Slikny touch I guess. BRING BACK SLINKY AT THE OH!!!

BRING BACK SLINKY AT THE OH!!!

Its gone move on! I loved the OH but slinky needed to get out of there, and while elements was not fairly busy imagine all the people in the OH? Would have been half empty!

As for people hissing at you thats pretty bad, i thought the atmosphere was wicked i must have been chatting to the right people! Give it another go, go on!

Humm well I think you will find that if it was in the OH then it wouldnt have been half empty, there would have not been coach issues either, i know that the feeling of Element has actually resticted quality clubbers to chavs, The OP has set up a site and I do believe that it has opened the opinion to everyone, I think you will also find a post on here where people are all joining this site and asking for slikny back at the OH, the re ferb also sounds spot on for club nights so i wouldnt be so sure you know!!! Think Mr Butterworth will see sence and Slinky will return! and no we didnt need to be moved out completey yes they needed a paint job thats for sure was getting dated, but now there are 3 more rooms a 300,000 light wall, a new dance floor i think that you will eat your words Mr! and they are going to have to have another pull all the stops out line up to get me in there again!

My friend went to see the OH on Friday before going to Elements with me, he was adament that Slinky will not return to the OH. And if it did return i am near 100% certain it would not return to weekly! I though that there was less "Chavs" in elements on Friday than a usual slinky night at OH. I know about the OH survey and yes i have signed it and was one of the first to sign the petition but we have to face facts that we dont have the OH anymore and cant dwell on the past, if we do then what future does slinky really have?

I do hope your right about slinky going back to the OH but im not going to hold my breath, im just going to get on with it!

yes you do have some very very valid points there i guess, im not living in the past what i mean as there are sooo many better clubs out there now and soo many other slinky nights throughout the world that elements is just not for me, not for me at all! Well im keeping my fingers firmly crossed and until it opens we just will not know will we, but keep voting peeps lets try and get it back!

I do however think it very harsh of anyone to hiss at you in anyway, thats one thing i like about slinky is you can pretty much wear what you want and you should be accepted and getting tuts and hisses is not good at all!

I'm sorry your Slinky at elements experience was not as good as mine, but hopefully in the future it may change?????

Yes yes and thank you for your kind words, maybe when i have got over the tragic afair then i might re visit and see if i can change my thoughts on the place, i have heard very good reviews of frenzy but i must admit spent all of 2 mins in there maybe i was just in the wrong room with the wrong croud!

yeah- i met loads of fun people in the frenzy room- much much friendlier than the main room which i briefly experienced. its a shame you didnt enjoy it, i had a great night. i just wish that the frenzy room had been a bit bigger!

I saw the article about the Opera House refurb in the Echo last week and I think that the industry insiders are right in thinking that it will be the best looking EMPTY venue when it re-opens. It is obvious they will go running back to Slinky within 3 months of the re-launch, either that or it will close again and monsieur Butterworth will have egg on his face big time. Mind you when you're Bournemouths richest man who cares about a couple of mil here and there? Boscombe indoor market anyone.....?
