A bit disapointed we didnt raise as much as we hoped.... But it was a great night!!
Well i was pretty disapointed to be fair with this event, as we had worked extreamley hard to promote this event since October last year, and as soon as Syndicate announced Slinky would be on the same night i knew we would be in trouble, and that we were.

Problems on the night - Obviously we lost Adam - Lab4 a few weeks ago due to his new comitments with Strike Artists, which ment he had to cancel our event, this was overcome by booking both Vinylgroover & Diablotrax Live PA.

Aswell as this Brian M & Mcbunn had to pull out due to them being double booked.

Scot fo Shaw had to cancel the night before due to his driver crashing the car, so he had no transport to the venue.

These blows on the way we took and overcome, and got on with the show - which i personally thought we had an amazing array of tallent in both rooms, all the DJs that played were amazing, the vibe was wkd, and everyone was having a blast. Me and Jamie lost of Virginity to the CDJs and that was the first time we have ever played out using them - and i thouroughly enjoyed it! If you caught our set your feedback would be great! We were on 1200-0100 in the Main Room.

Then as the night progressed, the numbers slowed down - we exspected this due to Slinky being on but we had a good few hundred people giving it there all!!

Then Kym went over to Slinky to round a few people up, ready for the After Party (Which was us!) Unfortunatley though, Syndicate did not inform the clubbers in their venue of this at all, as originally agreed, people were calling me asking when they were going to be given the VIP band that would allow them to come over to our venue for a reduced cost....

This was not done, according to people who came over at all, nor did they see collection buckets going around Syndicate, anywhere.

I am hugely dissapointed that this was the case, especially as our event was a 100% fundraiser for raising money to give Callum Kaye life saving treatment to overcome his battle with Cancer.

I am sure there are reasons as to "why" none of this was done.

This had major implications to our event, such that we were not at that time going to be able to cover the cost of the event with our current outgoings. This ment that the only way we would be able to try and send money to Callum and cover the costs of the night was to Cancel Lisa Pin Up at the last minute, and after talks within Nyce1 that was the action we had to take, and we are deeply sorry to anyone who did not get to see Lisa at this event.

Lisa was very supportive of the reasons, and was sadned by the decision we had to take.

But thankfully Kym Ayres stepped forward with Mich to play the last our - and i believe it was trully awsome set from both!! - And thankyou for stepping in and making better a bad situation!

We were expecting to have a near capacity club considering the line up we had - unfortunatley we had between 3 to 500 people who did make it a great night!

I would like to thank everybody who was involved/attended/contributed/donated/partyed at last nights event with out all of you last night would not of been the succsess it was despite us not reaching the amount of money we hoped to give Callum Kaye.

Thankyou to Simon for an amazing Light show, Dan for providing all the decor which was fab!
The Addicted Dancers for getting us all in the mood! All the DJs, the Diablo Crew for a wkd Live Set (Sorry about the power cut thing!) The doorstaff for being Friendly, firm and fair in their approach to their job.

The crew that went and flyered Slinky last night and took the collection buckets to help boost funds for Callums Appeal.

We will let you know exactly how much was raised as soon as Ian and his team confirm the totals we raised from Door entry, raffle tickets & the collection buckets.

We had 1 of the prizes donated back, The day in the Studio with Scott fo Shaw (the person who won was not intrested in this type of thing so if people would like to bid for this please do so in this page.

Otherwise thankyou to all of you!

Due to Bionic on May 10th @ Syndicate, we will be canceling our Return of the Big Bounce Night event, as i believe it would be suicide to run up against Syndicate again. We will update you as to when we will be back.

Thankyou to everyone who has supported us so far on our journey, if this was your first Nyce1 we hope you will be back!

All the best

Ayers vs Ayres!!

A bit disapointed to be fair....

Mate you shouldn't be disappointed. Its a tough game this promoting business and nothing ever runs smoothly as it should, if it does then you've done something wrong!!

I think you did put on a great night and altho it was all about raising money for Callum, atleast you created a hell of alot of awareness for the cause :D

Hi Nick,
I wasnt aware of the extent of the problems you had with last night - if its any concellation i personally thought that was the best Nyce1 since you guys started. I really enjoyed myself and the music throughout the evening was stomping and diverse.

Unfortunatley though, Syndicate did not inform the clubbers in their venue of this at all, as originally agreed, people were calling me asking when they were going to be given the VIP band that would allow them to come over to our venue for a reduced cost....

I am absulutly disgusted by Syndicate's actions. If they didn't want to help because you were a rival event then they should of said so from the beginning. I hope they are completely ashamed of themselves for putting there selfishness first.

Im absulutly gutted about this - was really looking forward to a night of pure bouncy hardhouse! But completely understand why. Again it infuriates me that Syndicate, a club which quite frankly doesnt need to feel threatened by smaller, more underground events appear to be making sure their punters only know of syndicate and their events and not of any others which may be suitable to some for afterparties, somewhere to chill whilst waiting for trains ect.

The Addicted Dancers for getting us all in the mood!

And thank you for having us :) Was a pleasure and hope you were as pleased with the Nyce1 Outfits we had made as we were.

You can catch me and Jaime (Tuchet & Worm) playin at Hard INvasion this Saturday at Lakota with Andy Farley, Technical + More!! Hard Invasion we hope you will come and support us at this event!!

Make sure you let us know what time your on and i'll make sure the girls will be getting the crowd going for ya! :)

Lisa pinup should of played for free, it was a charity event and all dj's no matter how big or small should do this, maybe if you ever do something like this again, if i was you i would get all dj's to play for free and it should be the first thing they should know..

I would of thought it may of crossed her mind or any other djs getting payed for that matter, that the event title says fund raiser, which means you do not charge for your services, maybe travel costs or a drink at the most.

I agree with that comment - the purpose of the event was to make money for Callum. So therefore in my eyes the purpose of the DJ's is to pull in the crowds so the money can be made and to give the punters a bloody good night at the same time. Not to play and then take the money raised for Callum as payment for their services.

Hi nick, i came to Nyce1 last night about 4AM, and i was well impressed, it capped off an already Quality Slinky evening, and i do believe a bouncer told me about the afterparty, im glad i came instead of buggering off home! It was excellent and i was happy to clean out my wallet for a good cause!! keep up the good work, Maxy B

Here Here..

least if they didnt charge you would have a hell of a lot more money for callum, which is what it is supposed to be all about.

But it goes for everyone i think, given that you advertised this way ahead of the date, you should of been able to get only people who will not charge, this includes everyone else too i.e door staff, bar men e.t.c, if they dont want to do something for charity then they should not bother working that night, also the venue owners should not charge for venue hire, or at least give a decent discount.

theres more to it than what it actually looks like bud. Everyone has to earn a wage and as I understand she planned to donate a substantial part of her fee. Nick had a tough decision to make to get the best out of the night and I believe he made the right one. The fact that Lisa was supportive of the decision must have made it alot better for Nick too. Dont forget she had been advertised as playing, was actually on her way to the venue and doesnt like letting fans down.

Lets not forget Kym and Mitch stepping in to fill in Lisa slot, something they didnt have to do but did very very well!!!
