A 100 year old Grade II* listed building this former Victorian theatre has enjoyed a rich cultural history. Past performing alumni include Charlie Chaplin, The Goons (who broadcast their radio show from here in the 1950s), The Sex Pistols and The Clash. During its 80’s heyday as the Camden Palace, the venue played a pivotal role in the New Romantic movement.

When The Mint Group took over in 2005, the north London building was in desperate need of repair. Within just six months they had restored this stunning landmark to its former glory, investing heavily in velvet-clad bars, art deco chandeliers and ornate balconies. The plush and opulent décor provided a refreshing antidote to the run-down venues typical on the live music circuit.
In a bid to make KOKO the best live music venue in London, Mint has employed a team of experienced bookers, highly regarded within the industry. Several of those involved were responsible for booking the original Reading Festival line-ups.

A favourite with touring bands, KOKO boasts one of the best green room facilities; these include a 'behind the stage' private room with cocktail facilities and plasma screens. As a result the green room has played host to numerous impromptu after-show parties, generating a buzz about the venue within industry circles.
In 2005 KOKO kicked off with an impressive string of performances by Madonna, Roxy Music, Queens of the Stone Age, Mylo, Coldplay and Babyshambles. By the end of its first year of operating was recognised as one of the UK’s best live music venues winning a host of coveted awards.
