Overated Venue and poor sound system
If it wasn't for Andy Whitby the whole night would have been a disapointment!
here here andy witby fucking awsome! none of the other dj's could get it as hard, but fair play whitby's set was bangin!

The venue is awesome but there were so many problems with sound systems. room 3 got cancelled as their sound system failed, room 2 had no bass at all and the main room didn't have the repeater speakers on right at the very top so it wasn't loud enough up there. Also the DJ monitors weren't tall enough (Ideally they should be playing into the DJs ears, not their body).
Lighting rig was decidedly average last night too compared to previous events there

I'd definitely disagree on Whitby though, best set was easily Farley who outshone everyone. Frantic classics all the way and ending on Red Snapper was just awesome!!! Just a shame he didn't have an hour and half long set as stated on the set times put up last week

i'm sure they were, but from a technical point of view they should be set up at head height for best results. Or at least pointed at the head

Room 3 was very disappointing that the djs couldnt give play more than 3 tracks at a time and then having a commercial break for 15mins! Why wasnt the correct amp put into place before the event??? Surely the sound systems has to be checked out beforehand like with any other gig??

On a better note, Andy Whitby done an awesome set!!!

First time I've been to Frantic and also koko and I had the best time of my life. DJ's were fab, I heard the music fine - my voice is hoarse from screaming my head off at everyone! I can't think of anything bad to say other than I wish I could have stayed longer!

Firstly a big thank you to all the DJs, Production Crew, Frantic Door Staff and Venue staff and who can forget the sold out capacity crowd who came from as far as the United States and Australia to celebrate Frantic's 11th birthday!

From talking to clubbers everyone was much happier about the reduced capacity, the better temperature control, the enlarged smoking area and big props to Andy Whitby, Cally Gage and Phil Reynolds who I saw rock the place to its foundations!

Like you we were disappointed that the sound broke in the middle room. We are restricted by the venue's spec both in this and the top room. The venue manager was horrified that it broke down, but we have resolved not to use that room for music in the future even though the manager assures me that it was working well on Friday night. We do feel though that every venue has its advantages and disadvantages and unfortunately Koko's restriction is that the 2 smaller rooms are not of the calibre of the main room, BUT boy what a Main Room, which is why we make our annual pilgrimage.

Frantic return with HHA's 8th Birthday on Sat 18th Oct at The Carling Brixton Academy. With HHA we choose the soundsystem and we are confident you will like what you hear.

Keep your eyes peeled for a very special announcement about HHA later this week and news of Frantic 010109 / NYDay will NEVER be the SAME Again!

Venue = wicked

Must say the temperature was a marked improvement on last August's sweaty mix-up (even if the line-up didn't come close this time...)

All in all, was a quality night, but I certainly missed a certain DJ...

Oh I had a great time, the sets thats stood out for me was Andy Rise & Matt Pick , they done a brilliant job, they were set of the night for me and tune of the night, Sharona !!!!! shame they clashed with my set so I only heard half, Cally was great , Phil Reynolds too, some of Frisky, Audio Hedz rocked

Caught some of Caz & Nathalie, I think you done a great job in warming up the crowd. Nice to hear Disco Balls !!! How good was it to play in that room? Was you nervous?

I really enjoyed my set with Kevsey, it worked really well, we played some groovy tunes. Loved playing in that room!!!! Thanks to all that stomped to out set April, Matt, Webbo, Zoney !!!! (I saw you dancing to my track) all of you, you know who you are . Was great to catch up with you all !!!!! Was good to meet some people I have chatted to on DSI, Hf etc

Zoney sorry I missed your set, but we do have a demo of yours, I shall have a listen

Shame about the third room, shame for the djs but it was nice as a chillout in the end

No complaints about the heat, perfect this time. I can't believe I lasted till 4:30, the drive home was a struggle, I had to stop for a coffee as I was far too tired to drive, it was unfortunate the night before I only had 3 hours sleep

Only thing missing was a few lasers, (I think im becoming obsessed with them)

But thumbs up all round, well done Frantic !!!!!

I agree with you there! Apart from Andy Whitby, they were set of night for me.

that room should never have had DJs in it full stop - not even last year, it's a bar / thoroughfare and has no room for anyone to dance in

*moaning bastard / pedant*

big props to Andy Whitby, Cally Gage and Phil Reynolds who I saw rock the place to its foundations!

what about Farley who is the true saviour of hard dance and made it worthwhile staying to the end despite having to listen to that scouse house shite before his set (ie klubfiller - who is not hard dance and is not Frantic as it should be and as such should not be playing at their events, let alone making a true legend such as Farley lose half an hour of his set so that he can play)

Oh I had a great time, the sets thats stood out for me was Andy Rise & Matt Pick , they done a brilliant job, they were set of the night for me

definitely imo the future of frantic. if Frantic fucked off their current residents bar these two they would actually maybe be doing something to help hard dance pick it's sorry arse up from the floor where it's found itself recently
