Following on from the recent meet and greet with Sonny Wharton (see below for link to interview) we catch up with LMP resident, Rachel Barton ahead of LMPs 3rd Birthday, taking place at Ministry of Sound on 12 July.
Rachel Barton is a veritable whirling derbish, causing havoc up and down the country with her residencies with LoveBox, Metropolis and our very own Like Minded People presents, Rachel is also a distinguished radio producer.
We are looking forward to Rachel laying down so bone tingling bass when she comes and plays at LMP’s 3rd Birthday on 12 July. We subject to Rachel the LMP grilling…
Like Minded People: Aye up Rachel.
Rachel Barton: Hiya!
LMP: So Rachel, what's The Best Night Out You've Ever Had?
RB: Thats soooo hard! Maybe the first time I went to Pacha in Ibiza? That place is amazing but I think most people would agree that the drink prices are not.
LMP: Apart from the obvious, what's the one essential thing you have in the DJ booth with you at all times?
RB: Umm well not a banana and flapjack that I recently discovered that Dillon Koenig has - ha ha haa!!! Does a large vodka and coke count?
LMP: What's Your Favourite Record Of All-time?
RB: These questions are too tough! Possibly Masters At Work - To be In Love. But there are so many others!

LMP: What did your parents want you to be when you were growing up?
RB: An international Event rider (that's a horsey sport where you do dressage, show jumping and cross-country and the combination with the lowest penalty score wins). I wanted to do it too, alas funds didn’t allow me carrying on much after the age of 19.
LMP: Ok, so what's the last album you put on your iPod?
RB: Goldfrapps 'Seventh Tree' – amazing.
LMP: Name Three Of Your Biggest Influences...
RB: Button Moon, my Granny and Frankie Knuckles.
LMP: What Is Your Life Philosophy?
RB: Get it sorted.
LMP: If you could put on a party anywhere in the world, where would it be?
RB: I once drew up a proposal to hold a party on one of the naval forts between Southampton and Portsmouth, you can only access it by boat and when you get there it's a massive round space - perfect for a rave! Though in love with the look of San Francisco at the mo - really want to go....

LMP: What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?
RB: From my Mum - be pro-active about everything
LMP: What's the last decision you made that you regretted?
RB: Not going to Sonar - but I've just moved into a lovely new flat so couldn’t do both....and the flat's a lot more important so I'm cool with it
LMP: What will be your tune of the summer?
RB: For DJing - Italoboyz vs John Coltrane 'Bahia' on Mothership - to hear at every festival and dance like a nutter to - Chems EBW 10.
LMP: Thanks for stopping by and sparing the time, look forward to seeing you on the 12th.
RB: See you then.
