Southampton has got a very strong hardcore scene with good selection of nights.
For hard dance and trance lovers, things however have been a little thin of late...

Originally started back in April of 2000, when Ocean Village was a mini mecca of bars and clubs.

....eh? ocean village? but thats Tesco Express and 2 other bars "where you go on a first date!"

Dont worry, you havent been missing out on some illegal out of hours raves in Tesco's Express (other convenience stores are available). Instead, before the developers rolled in, there were 2 fair sized nightclubs (600 & 550 capacity), plus about 4 bars, an arcade park and a shopping mall all in Ocean Village!

The Beach Club.... was the jewel in the Ocean Village Clubbing Crown and Debauchery was 'the' night there, pulling in clubbers from across the country, big name hard house and trance dj's and winning awards from Mixmag, Seven and Ministry Magazines, on separate occasions for being 'the best club in the south'.

Underground dance was thriving in Southampton and damn were the weekends good!

Fast forward to 2008, and there isnt one, strong, regular hard dance night in the city. Until..... Friday April 11th!

Clubbers can expect a the recently redecorated King Alfred pub to be transformed visually and atmospherically, into a clubbing paradise.

Custom decor and theming will be installed, heavy UV lighting, lasers, a bass heavy sound system and an excellent line up of dj's, each with a terrific selection of music.

All of which will prove to be one hell of a night which.....by the way... is FREE for all clubbers who visit the website to claim their free ticket in advance.

(£5 on the door other wise, for passers by and people who would quite simply like to pay)

A TV crew will be there on the night, filming the launch and clubbers, all part of a forth coming tv programme on the evolution of dance music over the past 15 years.

Full on club wear or fancy dress is strongly advised. Along with the added incentive of free cd's to all clubbers who turn up in outfits.
